WAIT with NOWAIT type functionality

WAIT with NOWAIT type functionality

Is there a way (or something you may want to add) to be able to use the status bar much like you may with a bunch of WAIT with NOWAIT calls? The main functionality that I am looking for is when you move the mouse or type something the WAIT/NOWAIT is taken off the screen...I would like the status message to blank out automatically also on that event.
